Mrs. Lynn Brantley, age 79, of Harrison, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Brantley was born in Washington County, the daughter of the late Charles William “Bud” Forehand and the late Gladys Wade Forehand.  She was a longtime resident of Hephzibah prior to retiring home to Washington County.  She retired from the Richmond County Board of Education as a coach and teacher after 43 years of service, many at T.W. Josey High School.  She achieved the distinction of becoming the “most winning ladies high school basketball coach in the state of Georgia”, a title that she still holds.  Mrs. Brantley is also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Gaye Drab.

Survivors include her husband, David Brantley of Oconee; daughter, Jan Yu Robertson and her husband Chad of Grovetown; grandchildren, Shannon Yu and her husband John Maciejowski, Brantley Yu and his wife Katie and Jennifer Sturdivant and her husband Travis; two great grandchildren; and sister, Janis Brantley of Oconee.
