Ready or not, here it comes! The start of school is quickly approaching.
Local schools are set to begin their 2020 – 2021 school year in a matter of days.
Washington County Public Schools will begin “traditional” classes on Friday, August 7 with “hybrid” classes following on Tuesday, August 11, and “blended remote learning” classes commencing on Monday, August 17.

To prepare local students for the upcoming school year, Family Connection & Communities in Schools of Washington County is set to hold a “Back 2 School Bash” on Tuesday, August 4th.
The “Back 2 School Bash” will be held at the Ridge Road Complex at 285 Ridge Road in Sandersville from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.
Generic school supplies, backpacks, and face masks will be presented to students attending the event, which we be held in a drive-through format, due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. To increase health and safety precautions, students and parents will be expected to remain in their vehicles at all times. Supplies will be delivered to each attendee.
Students MUST accompany parents/guardians in order to be given a backpack of supplies.

FCCIS of WACO is also holding a ‘Shoe Drive Fundraiser,’ and asking community members to donate their gently used/worn shoes. Family Connection & Communities in Schools of Washington County asks persons making donations to please tie shoes together by the laces.
