Washington County Commissioners unanimously voted to appoint Vivian Pierce to the Washington County Regional Medical Center’s Hospital Authority at their Thursday, November 12 meeting.

County Administrator Dustin Peebles explained that Pierce has attended Hospital Authority meetings, and was recommended by WCRMC Hospital Authority Chairman Jim Croome.

“They think she would do a good job,” said County Administrator Peebles.

This is the second appointment to the Hospital Authority in two months. As previously reported by WACO 100, Commissioners voted to appoint Dexter Wansley to the Hospital Authority at their Thursday, October 8 meeting.

In addition to appointing Pierce to the Hospital Authority, Washington County Commissioners also made two reappointments to the Library Board, Randy Thomas and John Wilson. They will each serve three-year terms beginning January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2023.

In a letter to the Commissioners, the Library Board explained that Thomas and Wilson are qualified to serve on the Board. Randy Thomas serves on the Oconee Library Regional Board, where she oversees the Friends of the Library that supports the local library’s children’s programs. John Wilson serves on the Building and Grounds Committee, as well as the Technology Committee for the local Board.

Washington County Commissioners also voted to appoint Stacey Brown to the Library Board.

County Administrator Peebles explained that Anne Pritchard submitted a letter of resignation; her term would have expired on December 31, 2022. The Library Board requested that Stacey Brown fill that vacant seat. Stacey Brown is married to Bert Brown; she is the daughter of Sandersville Mayor Jimmy Andrews and his wife, Sara. Stacey is employed at Washington EMC as a Staff Accountant. Her recommended term on the Library Board would run from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023.
