Senator David Perdue visited Washington County on Monday, December 28 as part of his “Win Georgia, Save America” Bus Tour.
Senator Perdue’s visit took place at the Dairylane in Sandersville.
When addressing the crowd that gathered outside the Dairylane, Senator Perdue explained that the “Win Georgia, Save America” Bus Tour is making 125 stops throughout Georgia.
“This is where we win,” said Senator Perdue. “We want to rally the troops, and let everyone know what’s at stake.”
In the January 5 General Run-off Election for U.S. Senate, Incumbent Republican candidate David Perdue will face Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff.
Early voting for this run-off election is already taking place; it began on December 14. Advance/Early voting concludes on Thursday, December 31.
Advance/Early voting takes place throughout the week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the office located in the rear of the Tag Office at 117 Jones Street in Sandersville.
“In the November 3 Election, we did very well here, and we’ve got to do it again,” said Senator Perdue.
As previously reported by WACO 100, those General Election results in Washington County for the U.S. Senate seat were as follows:
– Incumbent David A. Perdue (Republican): 4,630 votes, or 49.81 percent. Perdue received 2,441 Early votes, 1,455 votes on Election Day, 730 Absentee by Mail votes, and four provisional votes.
– Jon Ossoff (Democrat): 4,477 votes, or 48.17 percent. Ossoff received 1,790 Early votes, 1,020 votes on Election Day, 1,661 Absentee by Mail votes, and six provisional votes.
David Perdue was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014. He was born in Macon, Georgia and raised in nearby Warner Robins. He is the son of two public school teachers. Following high school, he enrolled at Georgia Tech where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduating, he married Bonnie, whom he had met in the first grade, and they have been married for over 40 years. David and Bonnie have two sons, David III and Blake. David III lives in New York with his wife Danielle and their two sons David IV and Jack. Blake lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife Charlotte and their son Hudson.
The runoff election is scheduled for Tuesday, January 5. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
