Whether it’s fried pickles, hot wings, a wicked burger, or some beer battered fries you’re craving, you won’t have to travel very far to satisfy that hunger.

The Pickle Barrel Café will soon have a location in Sandersville.

Groundbreaking took place last week for the restaurant’s newest location on East Haynes Street in Sandersville.

“They’ll move in to where the old train depot was, just opposite of Rushin’s Tax Service and The Pringle Building,” said the City of Sandersville’s Economic Development Director Andrew Simpson.

The Sandersville location will be the fifth location for the Pickle Barrel Café; other locations include Milledgeville, Gray, Dublin, and Greensboro.

“It’s a nice addition to that street, but it opens up the possibilities as a second square,” said Economic Development Director Simpson. “Sandersville is unique in that it has the potential of having two downtown squares.”

The groundbreaking was held on Wednesday, January 20. Pickle Barrel Café Co-owners Robert Jaworski and Brad Prosser explained that work will take place over the next three months to prepare the property for the new restaurant.

“We think it’s going to be a fantastic mix between the community and the Pickle Barrel Café,” said Jaworski.
