It’s time for spring cleaning for residents of the City of Tennille!
The City’s bulk trash pickup is scheduled for Thursday, April 22 through Saturday, April 24. Residents are encouraged to place bulk items near the road/street away from any poles or fencing for safe collection by the City.
Items that are not accepted in this bulk trash pickup include: construction and demolition materials, propane tanks, flammable materials, animal remains, paint, household hazardous materials, any fluids including motor oil and anti-freeze, any types of batteries, and tires.
In addition to the city-wide bulk trash pickup, a targeted neighborhood cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. until noon. This community cleanup will take place in District One within the City of Tennille, which includes: Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Johnson Street, Eleanor Street, Haynes Street, Carver Avenue/Street, Lincoln Drive, Booker T. Washington Street, Greta Street, Simmons Street, Fargo Street, and the portion of Smith Street running from Fargo Street to Matthews Road.
Volunteers are needed for the neighborhood cleanup. Anyone willing to help should meet in the parking lot of the former Majestic Senior Living (D.D. Crawford School) on Saturday morning.
