Mawson Infrastructure Group Expands Footprint and Invests in Washington County

During a news conference held on Tuesday, August 24 at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Mawson Infrastructure Group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Liam Wilson announced a project expansion in Washington County.

COO Wilson explained that Mawson Infrastructure Group’s focus is on bitcoin mining.

Mawson Infrastructure Group initially signed an agreement to lease one acre from Washington County in the summer of 2020. Since then, the business has seen continued growth, and during the Tuesday, August 24 news conference, Mawson Infrastructure Group announced further expansion, bringing the total site leased to 16.3 acres in Washington County.

“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with the Sandersville [City] Council and the Economic Development Authority [of Washington County],” said Wilson.

COO Wilson explained that Mawson Infrastructure Group was welcomed to Sandersville and Washington County with open arms and southern hospitality.

“With the opportunities that have been provided to us by the whole community, we are honored to give something back,” said COO Wilson.

During the news conference COO Wilson announced scholarships and sponsorships for both Brentwood School and Washington County Schools. In addition, they also launched the Careers Pathway Program at both schools.

Washington County Regional Medical Center will also receive a $10,000 financial contribution to help with the financial impact of COVID-19.
