A single motor vehicle crash on Monday, February 7 claimed one life, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The GSP’s preliminary investigative findings report that the Georgia State Patrol Post 33 of Milledgeville responded to the single vehicle crash on Monday, February 7 at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Georgia Highway 68 in Washington County.
The report from Georgia State Patrol indicates that based on the preliminary investigation, a red Ford F150 truck left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 73-year-old John Wesley Rhodes of Tennille, suffered fatal injuries from the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Wesley Rhodes is scheduled for Thursday, February 10 at 11 a.m. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
