The Georgia Department of Labor recently reported Washington County’s unemployment rate for the month of December 2021.
The latest statistics from the Department of Labor show Washington County with a 3.2 percent unemployment rate, an increase from the previous month. Washington County’s unemployment rate for the month of November 2021 was 2.9 percent. For December of 2020, Washington County’s unemployment rate was 7.0 percent.
According to data presented by the Georgia Department of Labor’s Workforce Statistics and Economic Research shows the labor force for Washington County during December of last year was 6,712 with 6,497 employed and 215 unemployed. The previous month’s work force was 6,778 with 6,582 employed and 196 unemployed. These numbers are not seasonally adjusted.
Unemployment rates for December 2021 as reported by the Georgia Department of Labor for surrounding counties are as follows:
– Baldwin: 3.0 percent, an increase from the previous month’s 2.7 percent unemployment rate
– Glascock: 2.1 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 1.8 percent
– Hancock: 4.0 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 3.6 percent
– Jefferson: 2.9 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 2.7 percent
– Johnson: 2.3 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 2.1 percent
– Laurens: 2.7 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 2.4 percent.
– Wilkinson: 2.5 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 2.3 percent
The Georgia Department of Labor reported that the unemployment rate in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) was 2.7 percent in December of 2021. This is an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 2.5 percent. The unemployment rate for the Central Savannah River Area was 5.6 percent in December of 2020.
The Central Savannah River Area includes the following counties: Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington, and Wilkes.
Georgia’s “not seasonally-adjusted” unemployment rate for December 2021 was 2.4 percent, an increase from the previous month’s unemployment rate of 2.2 percent. In December of 2020, the state unemployment rate was 5.6 percent.
