
Mr. Cecil Ronald Frazier, Sr., age 74, of Sandersville peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in an Augusta Hospital following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 A.M. in the Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Danny Thomas and Reverend Joe Crosby officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Church. A committal service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd at 1:00 P.M. in the Georgia War Veterans Cemetery of Milledgeville.
Mr. Frazier was born and reared in Sandersville, the son of the late Roswell C. Frazier and the late Minnie Rogers Frazier. Affectionately known as “Ronnie” during his youth, he was a graduate of the Washington County High School. While attending his Senior trip, Cecil was notified of his being drafted into the United States Army where he would proudly serve his country in the Vietnam War. Following his service, Mr. Frazier began a 38-year career with the Sandersville Railroad Company. He worked in many different capacities, but most enjoyed his time as a Train Conductor. Cecil possessed a strong work ethic, working many long hours, often seven days a week. Mr. Frazier was a longtime and faithful member of the Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing in the Men’s Church Softball League. Cecil relished hunting and fishing, participating in numerous Sandersville Railroad Company Bass Fishing Tournaments. Mr. Frazier was actively known as an avid National Champion Georgia Bulldogs Football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Brooks Frazier; children, Ron Frazier and his wife Amey of Sandersville and Tara F. Sims and her husband Larry of Augusta; grandchildren, Chandler Frazier and his fiancé Dylan, Connor Frazier, Jacey Sims, Corrie Frazier, and Logan Sims; and siblings, Bobby Frazier and his wife Janice of Sandersville and Susan Roberts of Ivey.
