Jacob Ross Lindsey, age 12, of Betty Street in Sandersville passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 9th at 2:00 P.M. in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Sandersville. Pastor Scott Ferguson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ashley Andrews, Trey Burgamy, Jose Cruz, Tony Dominy, John Knowles, Matt Lindsey, Colby Veal, and Ron Waters. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9th from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

Jacob was widely regarded as a loving, kindhearted, well-rounded young man. Intelligent beyond his years, he was known for his ability to repair advanced technologies and how to program code. Jacob taught himself to play the piano and speak Spanish. He was recently named a 6th Grade Honor Student at the T.J. Elder Middle School. Jacob was involved with the school Drama Club and was actively practicing to play soccer in the 7th grade. He was “tiny, but mighty,” small in stature for his age, but never allowing his size to deter him from activities. Jacob enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, gaming, and eating his favorite foods – cheese pizza and macaroni and cheese. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, “MiMi” Pamela Wiggins.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Summer Wiggins; father, Justin Lindsey; siblings, Jemma Reker and Josie Reker; stepfather, Jacob Reker; grandfather, “Pa” Rick Wiggins; grandmother, April Lindsey; and many loving family members and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the unprecedented outpouring of love and support from the community.
