Warren Kennedy Jackson, age 71, of Deepcut Road in Tennille passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at an Augusta Hospital. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, June 14th at 2:00 P.M. in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Tennille with burial to follow in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend Andy Yates will officiate. Pallbearers will be Richie Acock, Eddie Barksdale, John Brooker, Sr, Benjie Hodges, Jimmy Lewis, Barry Shurling, and Chet Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Mr. Jackson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late E.W. “Jack” Jackson and the late Sarah Kennedy Jackson. He was a graduate of the Washington County High School. Ken was a 50-year career electrician in the Kaolin Industry, beginning work with AICC and retiring from Imerys. Mr. Jackson was known for his love for animals, especially his dogs and cats. He enjoyed a good meal, spending time on his family farm, and watching NASCAR. Ken is preceded in death by his sister, June Jackson Hilliard, and brother-in-law, J.W. Hilliard.
Survivors include his siblings, Kathy Jackson of Sandersville and Jean Jackson Tanner of Sandersville; nephews, Jess Hilliard and Jack Hilliard and wife Jennifer; and niece, Brooke Tanner.
