Mrs. Caroldean Jackson Allison, age 89, of Sandersville passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, July 18th at 11:00 A.M. in the Zeta Cemetery of Tennille. Reverend Maura Peavy will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jared Bass, Nate Meadows, Chris Peavy, Dylan Randolph, Ryan Veal, and Colby Wimpee. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerome Bryan, Timothy “Fish” Fowler, and Brandon Smith. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the May & Smith Funeral Home of Sandersville.

Mrs. Allison was born and reared in Harrison, the daughter of the late Stevie Clay Jackson and the late Mary Dell B. Jackson. She graduated from the Tennille High School, where she excelled in playing basketball. While pursuing a degree in nursing, Caroldean married the late Marine Corps Captain Robert C. Allison, Sr. and traveled the United States through his military career. Upon returning home, Mrs. Allison began a thirty-plus year career in textile manufacturing, working with Washington Manufacturing Company in Tennille and Forstmans in Louisville. She possessed a passion for gardening, traveling with a shovel in her car to aid in transplanting various plants to her yard. Caroldean most loved her family, distributing treats from her snack basket to family and friends, and always ending conversations by stating, “remember, I love you,” waving from her porch. Ms. Allison is preceded in death by her grandson, R.C. Allison III, and her brother, Stevie Clay Jackson, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Darleen A. Veal of Tennille, Arleen A. Peavy and husband Ronnie of Warthen, Robert C. Allison, Jr. of Devereau, and Mary Ann A. Bass of Warthen; grandchildren, Tonya Bowen and husband John, Christopher Scott Peavy and wife Maura, Amy V. Meadows and husband Kevin, Laura V. Williford, Ryan Veal and wife Megan, Jared Matthew Bass and wife Maggie, Tucker Ray Allison, and Elizabeth Dianne Bass and husband Dylan; great-grandchildren, Savannah Grace Peavy, Kelsey M. Wimpee and husband Coby, Sydni Nicole Meadows and husband Andrew, Nathaniel Ryan Meadows, Allison Grace Williford, Heather Blake Williford, Abigail Elaine Veal, Madison Carol Veal, and Lulabelle Gail Randolph; great-great-grandchild, Raegan Alexis Vincent; and siblings, Charlotte Mashburn and Juanita Pittman.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Washington County Regional Medical Center, Dr. Earl Taylor, and hospice nurse Lynn McDonald.
