Mablean “Mable” Prosser, age 91, passed away at her residence on Monday, September 25, 2023. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 12:00 P.M. in the Brundage Mount Baptist Church of McIntyre with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29th from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the L.M. Pierce Funeral Home of Sandersville. The body will lie in state in the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Prosser was born on May 10, 1932, to the late Lucious Wells and the late Idella Chapman. She was a graduate of the Brundage Mount Public School. Mable was a lifelong member of Brundage Mount Baptist Church, devoted in serving through multiple capacities. Mrs. Prosser married her caring husband of sixty-three years, the late Oather “Sam” Prosser, in 1948, and to this union they loved and raised fifteen children. She is preceded in death by her children, Sam, Linda, Tony, Cassandra, Rosemarie, and Willie Wells.
Survivors include her daughters, Rose Hands and husband Xavier, Mary Cowan, Dr. Loretta Graham and husband Leroy, Deloris Prosser, Tonia Prosser and husband Don, and Veronica Tigs and husband Command Sergeant Major Dwayne; sons, Billy Prosser and wife Sandra, Samuel Prosser and wife Louise, Arthur Prosser and wife Linda, and Arthur “AJ” Prosser; daughter-in-law, Leslie Prosser; devoted grandchildren, Lee Antwan Smith and Tracie Prosser; god-daughters, Flossie Harden and Annie Lou Howell; 70 additional grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; devoted brother, Thomas Wells and wife Ida; sisters, Pauline Wells, Irene Wells, and Carolyn Wells; and host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
