Tennille Overpass Closed Nightly Through Thursday

The West Adams Street Overpass in Tennille is observing nightly closures for scheduled maintenance repairs through Thursday, October 5.

Repairs began on the night of Monday, October 2.

The Tennille Overpass is closed to public traffic from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until the morning of Friday, October 6.

Overnight hours have been set for maintenance in an attempt to disrupt the fewest amount of travelers.

The Georgia Department of Transportation and Washington County Road Department are listed as project leaders.

As previously reported by WACO 100, the West Adams Street Overpass observed repairs over a 45-day period from May 22 to July 7 earlier this year.

The City of Tennille is again requesting of railroad companies to not excessively sit on tracks during this time period.

Drivers are being advised to utilize Joiner Road and Holmes Cannery Road to access Highway 242 in attempts to avoid train traffic.

The City of Tennille apologizes in advance for potential inconveniences and thanks the public for their patience and understanding during the conducting of “essential maintenance.”
