Proposed Change Sees New Sandersville Election Day Polling Location

On Monday, October 9, the Washington County Board of Elections notified the public of a proposed change to the Election Day polling location for voters in the Sandersville Precinct.

Most recently, Election Day voting was held in the Washington County Recreation Department at 200 Franklin Haynes Boulevard.

The Board of Elections plans to relocate the polling location to the Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene at 619 South Harris Street.

Voters of the Sandersville Precinct would observe this change for the next scheduled election on Tuesday, November 7.

The Election Day polling locations for the additional seven Washington County Voting Precincts remains unchanged:

– Tennille … Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene at 316 East South Central Avenue
– Davisboro … Davisboro Community Center at 208 South Main Street
– Deepstep … Deepstep Fire Station at 8940 Deepstep Road
– Riddleville … Old Riddleville Fire Station at 10310 Georgia Highway 231
– Oconee … Oconee Fire Station at 144 Fairbanks Street
– Harrison … Harrison City Hall at 40 North Railroad Avenue
– Warthen … Warthen Fire Station at 178 Warthen Lane

Today, October 10, marks the deadline for individuals to register to vote or change their address for the upcoming General Election.

Absentee balloting by mail begins next Monday on October 16. Mail-in ballots may be returned by U.S. Postal Service or in-person at the Washington County Board of Elections and Registration. The final day to request an absentee ballot is Friday, October 27.

Advanced/Absentee In-Person Voting also begins on Monday, October 16 and will span through Friday, November 3. Early voting will be held Monday through Friday in the Washington County Board of Elections and Registration Office at 150 Riddleville Road in Sandersville from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Mandated Saturday voting opportunities will be offered on October 21 and October 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Board of Elections Office.

The 2023 Municipal General Election Day is on Tuesday, November 7. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
