Mrs. Patsy Redfern Brantley, age 82, of Warthen passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, at 2:00 P.M. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Warthen with burial in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Tim Powell and Reverend Bryce Jeffcoat will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ricky Haywood, Lamar Helton, Tony Lewis, Greg Peavy, Jackson Tollison, and Chris Yates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Cumming, Brian Daniel, Jay Peavy and Deacons of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 31 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the May and Smith Funeral Home of Sandersville.

Mrs. Brantley was reared in Warthen, the daughter of the late Leroy “Buckshot” Redfern and the late Sarah Osborne Redfern. She attended grade school in Warthen and graduated from the Sandersville High School the same year that she married the love of her life, Alfred Brantley, at the age of 18. Patsy began her working career at Royal Manufacturing and Ideal Beauty Shop before dedicating her life to care-giving as a full-time homemaker. Mrs. Brantley loved to cook for her family and friends and was well-known for her delicious divinity, pecan pies, and cheese cookies. She enjoyed cross stitching, piecing puzzles, feeding her hummingbirds, and tending to her flowers. Patsy was an active member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, serving as Church Hostess and decorator of the Church Sanctuary during Christmas.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Alfred Brantley; son, Greg Brantley and wife Terri of Sandersville; granddaughter, Cierra Brantley; brother, Tommy Redfern and wife Claire of Warthen; niece who she loved as a daughter, Lori Redfern; nieces and nephews, Michaela Yates, Chris Yates, Pam Ricci, Tony Lewis, and Lamar Helton; and many other cherished family members.
