A new Mayor for the City of Davisboro will be named during a runoff election on Tuesday, December 5.

The Washington County Board of Elections and Registration recently released dates of note for Davisboro voters as it relates to the upcoming ballot.

Valerie Gail Brown and Randy McNeely are the two remaining candidates for Davisboro Mayor.

Of the original three on the ballot, McNeely and Brown were the two individuals with the most amount of votes received in the Municipal General Election held last week.

Only four votes separated McNeely, who garnered 67 votes, and Brown, who collected 63 votes.

Incumbent Mayor Sandra Braswell obtained 39 votes and will not be included in the December runoff.

57 percent of the 298 registered Davisboro voters took part in the November election with 144 of the 170 ballots cast being on Election Day. 14 votes were made during In-Person Early Voting. 10 were received by mail.

The final date to register to vote in the Tuesday, December 5 Municipal General Runoff Election was October 10.

A last day to request and submit an absentee ballot application will be on Monday, November 27.

Early Voting will span the week of Monday, November 27 through Friday, December 1. It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Washington County Board of Elections Office at 150 Riddleville Road in Sandersville.

Polls will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Davisboro Fire House Kitchen located across the street from City Hall at 101 West Brown Drive.

As was the case in the November election, the Davisboro polling place has been relocated due to sustained unforeseen and unpreventable water damage at City Hall.

Earlier this month, Davisboro voters re-elected incumbents Keith Braswell, Nikki Carswell, and Larry Ivey to the Davisboro City Council. Essie Moye was elected as the fourth Councilperson over T.J. Farthing.
