Frank C. Moye, age 80, of Sandersville passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, following an extended illness. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at 11:00 A.M. in the Sandersville United Methodist Church. Reverend Dr. Stan Littleton will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Sandersville Rotary Club. The family will greet friends following the memorial service in Church Heritage Hall.

Mr. Moye was born on August 28, 1943, in Athens, the son of the late Lonnie J. Moye, Jr. and the late Eulawynn Raley Moye. He was a graduate of the Washington County High School and the Georgia Institute of Technology, receiving a degree in Industrial Management. Frank served his country in the United States National Guard Unit 878 Company B Engineering Battalion during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Moye worked as a licensed insurance agent, licensed real estate broker, and certified insurance counselor for Moye Insurance Agency, his father’s family owned and operated business. He was heavily involved in his community as a Board Member of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Twin City Country Club, and Broken Shackle Ranch. Frank served the City of Sandersville as Mayor from 1973 to 1979. Mr. Moye was a longtime member of the Sandersville Rotary Club, performing as Club President, Paul Harris Fellow, and Club Prosecutor in “Kangaroo Court.” Alongside “Rowdy Ron May,” “Fearless Frank” was known as the radio “Voice of the Brentwood Eagles” football and basketball teams on WSNT and WJFL. He was a recipient of the Brentwood School Booster Club Eagle Award for his contributions to the sports programs. Mr. Moye was a member of Sandersville United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees and teaching Adult Sunday School. He was known as a master story-teller and enjoyed delivering and hearing a good joke. Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie “John” Moye, III.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda W. Moye; son, Clark Moye and wife Denise; daughter, Tiffany Moye Prince and husband Jason; granddaughters, Peyton Prince and Emily Prince; brother, Jimmy Moye; step-children, Michael Thigpen and wife Dedrie, Johnathan Thigpen and wife Jennifer, and Jennifer Thigpen; and step-grandchildren, Danny Fechner and Mary Nicholson.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Greenwood Place and Pruitt Hospice for their professional and compassionate care provided to Mr. Moye.
