Four Sandersville Streets Closed Until Further Notice

Four Sandersville streets will soon be closed to traffic until further notice.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, a quartet of streets will close for construction in relation to the scheduled Tybee Community Drainage Improvement Project.

Hines Street will be blocked for thru traffic from Smith Street to Oak Street.

Railroad Avenue, Tybee Street, and Maple Street will be obstructed at Hines Street.

“We will work to have these streets open to routine traffic as quickly as possible,” said a statement from the City of Sandersville. “This is a large-scale project so please exercise patience with us on these delays.”

The City of Sandersville is also announcing a brief interruption in the acceptance of citizen utility bill payments.

Due to software updates, the City will be unable to accept in-person, internet, or phone payments from the evening of Tuesday, January 9 through the afternoon of Wednesday, January 10.

Sandersville City Hall will remain open for all other matters during normal operating hours.

All non-emergency department of the City of Sandersville will be closed on Monday, January 16 for the observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

If a Sandersville citizen experiences a utility outage on MLK Day, an on-call technician will be available.

Residential garbage pickup routes will operate as regularly scheduled.
