Three recent drug busts have led to the arrest of four individuals.
On Wednesday, December 27, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Sandersville Police officers, and agents with the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an address on the 500 block of Baker Street in Sandersville.
The issuance of the search warrant was derived courtesy of an ongoing investigation into alleged drug-related activities at the residence.
Charles Fort, age 69, was arrested and charged with three felony counts of the sale of cocaine and the use of a communication device during the commission of a felony.
The three law enforcement agencies later executed another search warrant at a residence on the 400 block of College Street in Sandersville on Friday, December 29.
During the course of the investigation, officers located illegal narcotics, a weapon, and un-taxed alcohol.
Anna Coney, age 60, and Herman Hall, age 62, were arrested and charged with misdemeanor sale of un-taxed beverages, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, felony manufacture and possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance near a housing project, felony distribution of a cannabiniod, and three counts of felony sale of marijuana.
Lastly, on Thursday, January 4, a two-month-long investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics led to the arrest of Garion Dent, age 30, of Sandersville.
Dent was charged with three felony counts of the sale of cocaine and violation of felony probation.
“These arrests are a result of citizen complaints received by our office,” said Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran. “Our law enforcement agencies will continue working in collaboration with one another and with citizens to ensure our communities and neighborhoods can remain a safe place for our families.”
