Are you ready for the rockin’ and roarin’ rodeo?

Thousands will throw their eyes towards the non-stop action of the upcoming annual Washington County Rodeo both tonight and tomorrow.

The WACO Rodeo is set to be held at the Washington County Ag Center on Grady Mertz Road in Tennille on Friday and Saturday. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. The rodeo will begin at 7:00 p.m.

This year’s family-friendly event is the 5th installment of the WACO Rodeo since the inaugural affair in 2019.

As with the previous renditions, the Hedrick Rodeo Company of Madisonville, Tennessee will again produce the Washington County Ag Center Rodeo, which is officially sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association and the Southeastern Professional Rodeo Association.

This weekend, fans will feast on events that include Bareback Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Bull Riding, and Break Away Roping.

Over 2,200 people are estimated to attend the rodeo over the next two days.

Proceeds benefit the maintenance of the Washington County Ag Center, assist in the promotion of agriculture in the community, and financially support the local 4-H and FFA.

“We are grateful to our many sponsors who have firmly supported us and this event,” said Eddy Turner, Chairman of the Rodeo Committee.

At the gate, tickets to the annual Washington County Ag Center Rodeo are $20 for adults aged 18 and older and $15 for youth aged 7 to 17. Children aged 6 and under are admitted free of charge.
