Mr. Gordon Luther “G.L.” Frazier, age 68, of Tennille passed away on Thursday, June 6, surrounded by family at his residence. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Tennille with burial to follow in the Baldwin Memorial Gardens of Milledgeville. Reverend Andy Yates will officiate. Pallbearers will be A.J. Frazier, Micah Limbaugh, Jamie Frazier, Garrett Powell, Kale Thomaston, and Joe Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers will be the AIC/GK Maintenance Shop. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the May & Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Frazier was born in Sparta, the son of the late Hubie Frazier and the late Edwena Veal Frazier. He was a 1973 graduate of the John Hancock Academy. G.L. spent his working career as a Level 4 Millwright with Georgia Kaolin, AIC, and Imerys. Mr. Frazier was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan, rarely missing a game. He enjoyed to fish, camp, and work with his hands. G.L. was known as an exceptional repairman and grill-master, who also enjoyed eating, especially Little Debbie’s cakes. Mr. Frazier most cherished his time spent with family, serving as “Poppy.” He was a faithful member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church. G.L. is preceded in death by his siblings, Sherod Frazier, Lamar Frazier, and Kay Rachels.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Watson Frazier; children, Brandie Frazier Beal and husband Ashley of Bonaire, Lindsey Frazier Layfield and husband Blake of Reynolds, and Luke Frazier and wife Sarah of Tennille; grandchildren, Carsyn Beal, Emmie Beal, Henry Layfield, Grady Layfield, Tyler Frazier, and Rowan Frazier; brother, Al Frazier and wife Jane of Eatonton; sisters-in-law, Carlene “Sissy” Walden and husband Mike of Milledgeville and Patsy Frazier of Cochran; and many nieces and nephews.
