One Man Injured During Plane Crash in Tennille

One man was left injured following a weekend plane crash in Washington County.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, emergency personnel responded to calls of a plane crash in residential Tennille.

The plane touched down in the backyard of a home on Carver Street.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft. He was transported to a trauma center in Augusta with apparent non-life threatening abrasions.

No others were injured in the incident.

The plane was a single-engine Just Aircraft 30 SuperStol – amateur-built – capable of flying at a top speed of 120 mph with a pilot and one passenger.

As the case with any aircraft incident, the National Safety Transportation Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
