Mr. Billy Mervin Williford, age 71, of Tennille passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brownwood Cemetery of Sandersville. Reverend Bobby Williford and Reverend Stacey Williford will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home of Sandersville.
Mr. Williford was born and reared in Sandersville, the son of the late Mervin Williford and the late Elizabeth Bridges Williford. At an early age, he began his lifelong career as an Automobile Paint and Body Technician working for Newsome’s Body Shop in Downtown Sandersville. Billy would later work for his uncle at J.W.’s Body Shop and Rhodes Body Shop in Tennille. Mr. Williford soon-after founded, Billy’s Paint and Body Shop, which he would own and operate for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles, attending auto races, and spending time outdoors – especially around a fire. Billy was a member of the Kendall Heights Church of God. Mr. Williford was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Waters Williford.
Survivors include his children, Shelly Hanson and husband Jared of Beach Island, South Carolina, Travis Williford of Sandersville, and Jeremy Williford and wife Ashely of Sandersville, Brad Crook of Tennille, Brittany Williford of Tennille, and Billy Dalton Williford of Tennille; grandchildren, Hannah Cooper, Caleb Cooper, Allison Williford, Heather Williford, Hadleigh Williford, Morgan Williford, Kayla Thompson, Annabelle Thompson, Landon Clements, Logan Clements, and Aaliyah Blanchette; and brother, Bobby Williford and wife Sheryl of Tennille.
