At nearly 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, the City of Sandersville issued a boil water advisory for certain customers within the City.
Home owners on South Smith Street from South Harris to Mathis Lane were advised to boil their water before usages designed towards consumption.
Sandersville issued the advisory following a loss of water pressure while repairing a broken water main.
The boil water advisory was to remain in effect until tests yield confirmation that water no longer needs to be boiled prior to consumption.
At 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, the City of Sandersville lifted the advisory following the completion of necessary repairs.
Citizens within the affected area are advised to flush all faucets for a minimum of two minutes to clear water lines before using the water for food consumption or preparation.
