Linda Cook Gladin, formerly of Creekwood Court in Sandersville, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. A graveside memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brownwood Cemetery of Sandersville. Father Steve Covington and Reverend Stan Littleton will officiate.

Mrs. Gladin was born on September 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Macon Cecil Cook and the late Glenis Pullen Cook. She was reared in the Pringle community before relocating to Sandersville as a teenager. Linda was a 1960 graduate of the Washington County High School. Mrs. Gladin attended the University of Georgia as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society, graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in business. She later received a master’s degree from the University of Hawaii. After college, Linda married her high school sweetheart and lifelong love, the late Bennie Ronald Gladin, and lived in numerous locations as he served as a Captain and Pilot in the United States Navy. Mrs. Gladin then began a length and illustrious career in banking, beginning with Sovereign Bank and retiring with Bank of America. She retired to Tybee Island, where she relished entertaining other members of the Tybee Island Episcopal Church. In 2018, Linda returned home to Sandersville to be near family.

Survivors include her sister, Cheryl Cook Avant and husband Carwin of Sandersville; nieces, Kim Weatherly Callaway and husband David of Franklin, Tennessee, Kelli Weatherly Haugen and husband Rob of Flowery Branch, Anna Pilla and husband Leo of Ellijay, and Amanda Ferguson and husband Michael of Orlando, Florida; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and her sister-in-law, Gay Gladin of Ellijay.
