The owner of a club in Tennille has been arrested following multiple shootings at his establishment.

Cornbread’s Club, located on the 700 block of Matthews Road, has seen three individuals injured via two separate shooting incidents in the past 4 months.

David Ellison, the owner of the venue, was arrested last Friday at his home in Tennille.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed an arrest warrant on the 75-year-old Ellison for the violation of a beer and liquor license and operating a disorderly establishment.

In the midnight hours of a Sunday morning in April, deputies responded to calls of over 25 shots being fired at the Cornbread’s Club.

Upon arriving at the club, responding law enforcement did not see any injured individuals or reported shooters.

A short while later, the Sheriff’s Office received the report of an injured male subject at a residence on Irwin Avenue in Tennille. The call claimed the man had been shot in the previous incident.

Although, after arriving at the home, deputies were alerted that the injured man had fled the scene.

Blood remains were located at the residence and samples were collected. An area search for the male subject yielded no results.

Then, just before 12:30 a.m. last Sunday, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were again dispatched to reports of shots fired at Cornbread’s Club.

This time, deputies discovered two injured individuals with apparent gunshot wounds.

An ensuing investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Travon Nicardrick Hutchinson of Wrightsville.

Hutchinson, known by the alias of “Pete Graddy,” is wanted on 3 counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commitment of a felony.

He remains at large. The search for wanted man has been turned over to the U.S. Marshall’s Service Fugitive Squad.

According to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, the two people hurt in the latest shooting both sustained non-life threatening injuries and are currently recovering.

The Sheriff also stated that he previously approached David Ellison over a year ago to voice concerns about the reported violence at his club.

Sheriff Cochran said the arrest of Ellison was via a superior court warrant.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners have scheduled a hearing concerning the beer and liquor license of Cornbread’s Club for later in August.
