A fried fish dinner for area law enforcement led to the recent arrest of four individuals.
Last week, on Tuesday, August 27, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office held host to a meeting of the August South-Central Traffic Enforcement Network.
Agencies across middle Georgia joined for a meal that preceded training to be used later in the evening.
Following the fish flavored fellowship and instruction, area deputies and officers orchestrated multiple traffic safety checkpoints throughout Washington County.
The tag-teamed efforts resulted in the issuance of twenty citations and four arrests.
Three of the arrests were for misdemeanor violations.
The fourth arrest was of 39-year-old Jenna Zaenglein of Sandersville.
Zaenglein was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, felony possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute, and misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
Following the night’s performance, Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran thanked those that prepared the meal, all involved officers and deputies, and the support of the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
