Early Voting for Presidential General Election Opens October 15

Citizens can begin making their voices heard in deciding the next United States President.

Early voting for the Presidential General Election opens tomorrow on Tuesday, October 15.

The 46th U.S. President Joe Biden does not seek reelection.

Ballots see the 45th President and Republican nominee Donald Trump face off against current Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

Ohio United States Senator J.D. Vance is the Republican party nominee for Vice President. Democrat party nominee for V.P. is Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Early voting will run through Friday, November 1.

It is held Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Washington County Board of Elections and Registration Office at 150 Riddleville Road in Sandersville.

Saturday voting opportunities are on October 19 and October 26 at the Board of Elections Office.

Also, on the general election ballot for Washington County voters is the race for Representative of Georgia House District 128.

Incumbent Democrat Mack Jackson sees opposition in Republican Tracy Wheeler.

Additionally, the seat for Georgia’s 12th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives is contested.

Democrat Elizabeth Johnson faces incumbent Republican Rick Allen.

A Special Election also appears on ballots for voters in Washington County.

Citizens are to cast their votes either “yes” or “no” for the continuation of the ongoing 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax for education known as E-SPLOST.

The tax is to raise $28 million over the next 20 quarters to benefit Washington County Public Schools.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.

Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

– Warthen … Warthen Fire Station at 178 Warthen Lane
