Walter Bruce Wilson, age 70, of Davisboro peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Reverend Mike Jones will officiate. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 15 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home of Sandersville.

Mr. Wilson was born on December 7, 1953, the son of the late James Keen Wilson, Sr. and the late Julia McArthur Wilson. He was reared on his family’s farm near Davisboro, where he developed a lifelong passion for farming. Bruce was a graduate of Brentwood School before receiving an associate’s degree from the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and graduating cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Agriculture. Mr. Wilson then returned home to his farm, where he would spend the entirety of his working career. He was a lover of animals, enjoyed tending to his yards, and spent most of his days outdoors or meticulously maintaining his automobiles. Bruce will be remembered as a gentle and compassionate man.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Karen Coleman Wilson, and siblings, James K. Wilson, Jr. and wife Mary Jean of Amelia Island, Florida and Martha W. Armstrong of Sandersville.
