Reverend Dewey Ray Henderson, Sr., age 81, of Sandersville passed away on Friday, October 25. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 28, at 2:00 p.m. in the White Oak Church of Davisboro. Reverend Greg Usry will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Usry, Josh Usry, Thomas Glover, John Brantley, Armendo Segura, Wes Goodwin, and Hunter Caudle. The family will receive friends at the Church from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Reverend Henderson was born April 1, 1943, the son of the late George L. Henderson and Anna Lucille Saunders Henderson. He was reared in Louisville and resided in Sandersville for the past 58 years. Dewey was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Reverend Henderson also served as Pastor of White Oak Church for 40 years. Over eight years, he co-owned and operated Henderson and Daniel Heating and Air. Dewey was known for his jovial personality – enjoying to laugh, love people, and cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs. Reverend Henderson most cherished his time spent with family and sharing the word of God. After receiving the Lord in 1973, he dedicated the rest of his life to living for Jesus. Dewey was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Henderson, and siblings, George Emory Henderson and Lucille “Lou” Fordham.

Survivors include his children, Sandy Brantley, Susan Glover and husband Jody, Ray Henderson, Jr. and wife Heather, and Julie Palmer and husband Derek; grandchildren, John Brantley and wife Ashley, Brittany Morgan and husband Troy, Thomas Glover and wife Alexandra, Katie Segura and husband Armendo, Nicholas Henderson and wife Yeanelly, Luke Henderson and wife Emily, Daniel Henderson, Lydia Henderson, Hunter Caudle, Anna Marie Videtto and husband Michael, and Emily Palmer; and twelve great-grandchildren.
