Calling all ghosts, ghouls, and goblins – vampires, werewolves, and skeletons – welcome to your “Halloween Holiday,” as the City of Sandersville invites you to their Trunk-or-Treat event!

The annual affair will be held tonight, on Halloween, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the Courthouse Square.

Downtown Sandersville merchants and vendors will be offering candy to passing and participating trick-or-treaters. Fun games will be ongoing and a face painting station will also be operational.

The fun night “up on the Downtown Square” is presented by the Sandersville Main Street, which works to organize events and promote the City of Sandersville to further economic vitality and sustain historic heritage.

With the obvious amount of increased “foot traffic” tonight, the Sandersville Police Department is sharing helpful tips for drivers and pedestrians to have a collectively safe holiday.

For drivers:

~ Slow down and keep an eye out for pedestrians, especially in residential areas.

~ Keep your attention on the road and surroundings by eliminating distractions.

~ Designate a sober driver or walking buddy if you plan to drink alcohol.

For pedestrians:

~ Always walk on a sidewalk if one is available.

~ Make sure drivers see you and stop their car or truck before you walk in front of the vehicle.

~ Provide adult supervision to children under the age of 12 when out at night.

~ Stick to familiar areas that are well lit and trick-or-treat in groups.

~ Decorate costumes with reflective tape and have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights.

~ Cross the street at corners using traffic signals and crosswalks.

~ Do not walk alone after drinking, as walking impaired can be just as dangerous as drunk driving.

Stay safe, stay listening to WACO 100, and have a Happy Halloween!
