Two local ladies were recently recognized for their longstanding contributions to agriculture in Washington County.
As 2024 came to a close, the Washington County Farm Bureau held their Annual Meeting at the Sandersville Farm Bureau office location.
During this time, it was acknowledged that a pair of Women’s Committee members would be retiring from their positions.
For her years of service as an outstanding Chairperson for the important committee, Rabun Waller was publicly thanked and presented with a plaque of appreciation by Washington County Farm Bureau President Eddy Turner.
He would also commend Lorei van Loenen for her tenured performance as Washington County Chapter Chair.
“Both women have been fantastic assets to Farm Bureau and will be greatly missed,” said President Turner.
Additionally, during the end of year meeting, Turner endorsed the importance of FFA and 4-H in local classrooms.
He presented local chapter leaders Matthew Shelton, Wesley Pope, Chase Thompson, and Rocky Tanner with $1,000 donations from the Washington County Farm Bureau to the WACO FFA and 4-H.
“The mission of Farm Bureau is to support agriculture in the community and classroom,” said President Turner. “We also support the general economic safety and educational welfare of our ag producers in Washington County.”
