Mrs. Jennie Lou Bryant, age 85, of Sandersville passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church of Sandersville. Revend Calvin Hatcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sandersville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryant was born on August 21, 1939, in Washington County to the late Carlos Hurst and the late Millie Lou Hurst. At an early age, she gave her life to the Lord and became a member of the Ohoopee Baptist Church. Jennie worked at the Washington Senior Center, diligently caring for the local elder population. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Bryant; children, Earnest Bryant, Jr., Kenneth Bryant, and Betty Hurst Clark; and siblings, Carlos Hurst, Jr., Annie Hurst, and Willie Hurst
Survivors include her children, Edwin Hurst, Bernard Bryant, and Tony Bryant; niece: Mary McClendon; uncle, Miller Peacock; son-in-law, Wiley Clark; daughter-in-law, Betty Bryant; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; special devoted caregiver, Delois Cuyler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
