The City of Tennille will conduct smoke testing of the City’s sewer infrastructure on Tuesday, August 11 through Thursday, August 13.
According to Tennille Mayor Eartha Cummings, smoke testing is a relatively simple process that consists of blowing smoke with large volumes of air into sanitary sewer lines, usually induced through the manholes.
The smoke travels the sewer line of least resistance, and it will quickly reveal sites that allow surface water inflow.
The smoke will clear on its own and will not harm the environment.
Anyone with questions regarding smoke testing in the City of Tennille can contact Tennille City Hall during business hours by calling 478-552-7875.
