Jennifer Smith Copeland, age 47, of Harrison passed away on Monday, April 15 at her residence. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Wrightsville with burial in the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Andy Carter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Wayne Smith, Wayne Godfrey, Will Clark, C.J. Smith, Richard Knowles, Nick Wilmot, Daniel Smith, and Bobby Bates, Jr. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the May and Smith Funeral Home of Sandersville.
Mrs. Copeland was born in Laurens County on January 11, 1977, the daughter of Rita Bates Weaver and the late Thomas James Smith. She was raised in Harrison and a 1996 graduate of the Johnson County High School. Jennifer then obtained her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Heart of Georgia Technical College. Mrs. Copeland spent her working carer with the Johnson County Health Department. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Jennifer enjoyed spending time with her family, riding horses, and reading.
Survivors include her children, Lillian Copeland and fiancé Daniel Smith of Dublin, Leighann Copeland of Wrightsville, and Charles Lee Copeland of Wrightsville; mother, Rita B. Weaver of Harrison; siblings, Thomas Wayne Smith and wife Mary of Harrison and Cheryl Ann Armistead and husband Jeffery of Walton County; and grandchildren-to-be, Emma Rose Smith and Aiden Alexander Smith.
