The City of Sandersville is observing a pair of Trash Amnesty Days – today and tomorrow.

On Friday, Sandersville citizens are encouraged to place their debris by the roadside for pickup. The City asks that all trash be taken roadside as early as possible, prior to a trash truck’s arrival.

Dumpsters are being made available to all City residents on Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m at the Sandersville Annex Building, located at 124 Hospital Road.

Items that will be accepted for free include: appliances, furniture, cardboard, computers, electronics, bulk items, etc.

For a fee, tires may be dropped off. Citizens can pay $7.00 per tire up to 22 inches and $18.00 per tire over 22 inches.

Paint, chemicals, and animal remains will not be accepted at the dumpster site or for roadside pickup.

To dump items off at the City Annex, individuals must provide proof of Sandersville citizenship with a photo ID and their most recent City utility bill.

To continue their “spring cleaning” theme, Sandersville is also partnering with Citizens Bank of the South to offer a “Shred Day” on Saturday.

From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., citizens may take documents to the bank main office at 132 South Harris Street for shredding – free of charge.
