The Washington EMC Annual Meeting has found its new date.

Originally scheduled for October 5, the electric cooperative postponed the meeting after surveying the widespread effects of Hurricane Helene across the 10 counties serviced by Washington EMC.

Following extreme devastation that resulted in an outage of 95 percent of Washington EMC meters only days before the original Annual Meeting date, the decision was made to reschedule the event until the following month.

The Washington EMC Annual Meeting will be held next week on Tuesday, November 5.

It will be held as a walk-in meeting from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Washington EMC members are encouraged to visit one of the three Wash EMC office locations to view the presented yearly recap information and participate in the Board of Directors voting process.

The walk-in Annual Meeting is being held at the following office locations:

~ Washington EMC Home Office at 258 North Harris Street in Sandersville

All Washington EMC members that participate in the November 5 Annual Meeting will receive a $10 bill credit. They will also be entered into a drawing to award 25 members $100 credits on their energy bill.

The voting ballot includes the two nominated members of the Washington EMC Board of Directors Nominating Committee:
