Sandersville leaders are asking citizens to help shape the city’s future by partaking in current discussions on how to best improve local lifestyle.

Last month, the City of Sandersville announced the resumption of their 5-year strategic planning process. At this time, policymakers are seeking to partner with residents and business owners on identifying the strengths, weaknesses, and needs of the community.

A simple way to voice your opinion was through a quick and easy, 10-minute online survey.

The City of Sandersville partnered with the Washington County Chamber of Commerce to award two lucky poll participants with $50 Shop at Home gift cards. Winners were randomly selected in a Friday, December 27 drawing.

The poll questioned residents and business owners on multiple topics including resident experience, perceptions of infrastructure and local government, and opinions on how to shape the future of the city.

Survey results were publicly reviewed at a Community Workshop on Wednesday, January 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Sandersville Fire House at 125 Warthen Street.

City leaders asked for feedback on the survey process and allowed meeting attendees to voice their opinions on which results should be prioritized moving forward into the planning and implementation steps.

During the Community Workshop finger foods were served and door prizes were awarded.
